This is also the island’s peak season for tourists.

Koh Lipe, a small island in the Andaman Sea off Thailand’s southwest coast, is celebrated for its powdery white beaches, translucent turquoise waters and thriving coral reefs teeming with marine life. As a tropical haven, it enjoys a warm, humid climate year round, making it an appealing destination for sun seekers and snorkelling enthusiasts.

Temperatures remain consistently balmy, averaging between 25°C (77°F) in the cooler months and 32°C (90°F) during the hottest periods. The island experiences two main seasons: the dry season from November to April, and the rainy season from May to October.

The dry season brings calm seas, clear skies and ideal conditions for diving, beach hopping and island excursions. This peak period sees the most visitors, particularly from December to March. In contrast, the rainy season sees occasional tropical showers, often in short bursts, with July to October being the wettest months. While boat services may be limited during heavy rains, this quieter season offers lush greenery, fewer crowds and lower accommodation rates.
